Following the Fragmented Light beyond the Shoulder of Giant is a site-specific installation in a space that was previously a bank, a symbol of capitalism. Borrowing from Russian Constructivist visual language and anarchists’ metaphors to move beyond the dominant institutions and value systems symbolized by the enclosure and claustrophobic space of a bank. The work reflects my utopian hope for a better world that may exist beyond the giant of corporate Leviathan.
< 거인의 어깨너머 분절된 빛을 따라 >는 은행의 금고로 사용되었던 공간에
영상, 오브제 등으로 구성한 설치 작업이다. 금고 중앙공간에는 삼각거울 8면으로 구성된
거울각면 오브제가 바닥에 비스듬이 매달려 있으며,
벽면에는 다양한 크기의 삼각판넬이 세워져있다. 그리고 공간 천정과 벽 사이에는 가느다란 실이
바늘에 꿰어져 공간을 채우고 있다. 이 작업은 자본시스템을 벗어나 미지의 세계를 향해 나아가고자 하는 바램이 적용된 작업이다.
